Gilded Scar Memoir publishes beautifully written true stories about the experiences that mark us. We are interested in the story beneath the story: the altered shape of a life, the memory that changes each time it is revisited, and the truths we become capable of telling only after time has passed.
We do not require writers to transform suffering into inspiration. Some wounds heal. Some alter us permanently. Some become beautiful only because we eventually learn how to carry them.
